CBSE Class 10 2022 Results: Lessons Beyond Grades

CBSE Class 10 2022 Results: Lessons Beyond Grades

The day of the CBSE Class 10 board exam results was an emotional rollercoaster. Scrolling through my phone on May 13, a text from DigiLocker startled me – the Class 12 results were out. Panic set in initially, but relief soon followed when I realized it wasn’t the day for my grade level.

However, just as I was starting to calm down, another shockwave hit – my father rushed in to inform me that the Class 10 results were also available. My heart raced as I powered up my laptop, my hands trembling with nervous energy.

Unexpected Math Scores and Emotional Reflections

The screen finally loaded, and I saw my overall percentage: 92. While I was relieved to have performed well overall, my joy was momentarily overshadowed by disappointment upon seeing my math score, which was merely 88. This stark contrast to the 95 I had consistently scored in pre-boards and my hoped-for 96 in the final exams was disheartening. Adding insult to injury, peers who struggled with mathematics inexplicably outperformed me, receiving a higher score.

While it felt unjust, the happiness in my parents’ eyes helped put things into perspective. Their pride and support helped me remember that grades do not define our worth. Instead, it is how we handle our successes and setbacks that truly matters.

PEOPLE’S REACTION TO CBSE CLASS X RESULTS

On a regular day, I was engaged in my usual activities, waking up, having breakfast, doing homework, reading textbooks, listening to music, and going to coaching.

But the situation took a twist when, around 5 PM, CBSE announced the results publicly. Relatives were instructed to start searching for their children who had appeared in the exams and start a comparison to enlighten concerned parents. The pressure was immense, especially when I found out that my English marks, which were 87, were somehow known before even my parents or me.

The results were a mix of good and bad news. While I was satisfied with my overall percentage of 95.6, the lesser marks in English felt like a significant blow. The disappointment was palpable, leading to half an hour of scolding for the English marks from concerned relatives. The thought of the English and math scores switching positions was terrifying and could have dire consequences.

LESSONS LEARNED

While grades are important, they don’t define us. Success and failure are a part of the journey, and it is how we handle our successes and failures that truly matter. Here are some key takeaways from this experience:

Prepare Thoroughly for Both Subjects: I prepared my maths exam at a tough level while preparing for English at an easy level. However, the actual exam levels varied, making it clear that both subjects are unpredictable.Lessons from Reality: My experience taught me that the results are a consequence of your actions throughout the year, not just on the day of the exam.Frame Success Correctly: Relatives and parents sometimes set high expectations, which can add pressure. It is important to frame success positively and not let external expectations cloud our own perceptions.

So, here is my result summary for the CBSE Class X exam:

CBSE Class 10 Student Name: HARSH

Science Marks: 97Social Science Marks: 98Hindi Course A Marks: 96English: 87Mathematical Standard: 100Information Technology Marks: 100

Total Marks: 478/500

Overall Percentage: 95.6%

For future students, it's crucial to prepare well for both English and maths, as these subjects can be unpredictable. Success is not just about the day of the exam but the consistent effort throughout the year.

In conclusion, this can be one of the best or worst days of someone’s life. For me, it is the best day. I did not proclaim if I could have pushed my percentage to 98 with an extra week of study. In my opinion, results are the cumulative outcome of your actions throughout the year. So, let's close with a message of positivity and resilience.
