Personal Experiences and Insights
A student who has undergone the IPCC process from both MT Educare and JK Shah offers some firsthand insights:
JK Shah has a few distinct advantages over MT Educare:
Timely Completion of Portions: In comparison to MT, my portions were completed much earlier at JK Shah (by January 24th for May 19th), which gives you a significant head start. This early completion greatly helps in clearing the IPCC. Regular Test Series: JK Shah conducts regular test series and provides answer sheets evaluated by the ICAI marking standards. This ensures you know where you stand regularly. Class Hours: The weekday classes at JK Shah run from 6:30 to 1 and the evening batch from 2 to 8:30 (I was in the morning batch, and you can also attend the second half of the morning and the first half of the evening batch). This structure is considered more flexible and beneficial as it allows you to catch up and provides ample time for self-study. While the initial hours are relatively leisurely, it can become tiring towards the end, and you may end up not focusing in class. The MT admin informed me that class hours might stretch towards the end of the portion. Motivational Sessions: JK Shah hosts two seminars at the start and end of the batch, focusing on preparation strategies and faculty themselves handle motivational sessions for their subjects. However, there isn't a formal timetable allocating hours and breaks among the 8-hour window, making it more challenging to manage your time efficiently. Doubt Clarification: While I couldn't compare what MT did, JK Shah has a helpline number system where you can WhatsApp or text doubts subject-wise, and they are committed to clarifying them within 3 days. I have observed the Costing tutor carrying his helpline phone and answering during class breaks. In conclusion, while both institutes have their merits, the faster pace and structured approach at JK Shah may give you an edge in your IPCC preparation. However, always remember that CA is a course where self-study plays the maximum role. If you want to clear, you must be fully committed to your studies.
In sum, the best choice for IPCC preparation in Chennai will depend on your individual learning style and specific needs. Consider attending a demo class at both MT Educare and JK Shah to see which one resonates more with you. This hands-on approach will help you make the most informed decision.
