Class 10th: My Precious School Memories
Reflecting back on my tenth-grade year, I was the topper of my class but hardly any five of us studied rigorously. My score was an impressive 8.8, reflecting not only my academic efforts but also my inclusion in a closely-knit and talented group of students.
Annual Function and Confidence
One of the most cherished memories of my tenth-grade year was hosting my school's annual function. The few minutes' speech was instrumental in building my confidence. At the time, public speaking was a challenge for me. This experience helped me develop a more confident voice, a valuable skill that has served me well throughout the years.
Early Mornings and Tuitions
I remember starting my day at 6 am, a routine that began with attending tuitions for tenth grade students. While the purpose of tuitions is to study, my friends and I were always engaged in small talks. This served not only as a break from the serious studies but also as a precursor to the intense academic tasks ahead.
Favorites and Games
Games were a highlight of my tenth-grade year. I particularly enjoyed the kho-kho game, which I consider my favorite. My teachers, Mammata Vara Lakshmi and Lakshmi, were both favorites of mine due to their positive and engaging teaching styles.
Reading Newspapers and Yoga Sessions
During the morning assembly, standing in front of 200 students while reading headlines from an English newspaper was an experience I will never forget. At the time, I didn’t fully grasp the significance of the news, but it added a layer of excitement to the daily routine. Notable too, was the yoga session we had on alternate days. Post yoga, I could feel an immediate surge of energy, contrasted with the exhaustion I felt after the games period.
Naivety and Beauty
A specific memory involves the way I dressed-up on Saturdays. I used to wear ghagra cholis, a traditional Indian dress. On a regular occasion, after school, I’d stand in front of the mirror, reflecting on the beauty in my own reflection. Every day, there were so many attractive girls around, yet I admired my looks immensely. That was my naive sophomore year.
August Memories and Sleepy Class
As the August month drew to a close, I was once again seated at the back of the classroom, where my plain was to avoid being covered by the students in the front row. To my disadvantage, I decided to concretize myself discreetly. However, during the lesson, the class murmured, and laughter filled the room, startling me awake. I was caught off guard, and my classmate’s laughter further embarrassed me. My teacher, however, playfully told me to continue my slumber, a gesture that in retrospect, was quite endearing.
During the final boards, I scored 95 in social studies, a testament to my dedicated preparation. Pre-boards, however, were not as flattering, with a score of 29 out of 80. This marked the end of a tumultuous yet memorable tenth-grade year.
In retrospect, these memories not only highlight my academic journey but also my growth as an individual. Reflecting on these experiences, I can see how they shaped the person I am today.
