Compensation for Jehovah's Witnesses: Beyond Monetary Rewards
Often misunderstood, Jehovah's Witnesses do not receive monetary compensation for their work. Their motivation goes beyond mere financial gain, rooted in their belief in sharing God's truth and helping others.
Sharing God's Truth
According to Jehovah’s Witnesses, the primary motivation for engaging in Bible studies and missionary work is to share the truth that they believe the Bible teaches. They see their actions as a way to show appreciation for their relationship with their heavenly Father, Jehovah God, and Jesus Christ, the beloved Son.
We do what we do out of appreciation for the relationship we have with our heavenly Father Jehovah God and his beloved Son Jesus Christ.
The central belief is that by studying the Bible, they have found the truth, and this truth has set them free. This freedom is not just intellectual or emotional but also spiritual. As stated, ldquo; The truth will set you free.rdquo; (John 8:32)
Free Bible Studies and Voluntary Approach
Bible studies are conducted without financial expectation. Attendees are not required to commit to a specific duration of study and can leave at any time if they feel it is not suitable for them. The experience provides personal fulfillment rather than financial gain.
I guess you could say our compensation is when someone enjoys the Bible Study it makes us happy.
Supporting the Organization
Jehovah's Witnesses support the organization through voluntary donations. These donations are used to support missionaries, workers at headquarters and branches, and traveling overseers. While these funds can provide a small allowance for personal expenses, the overwhelming majority of workers live on their own income.
Those living at Witness facilities may receive some compensation for personal items, but it is not a wage or salary. The general principle remains that Jehovah's Witnesses support themselves and carry out their work voluntarily.
Every position is volunteer.
Questions and Clarifications

No hourly wage or retirement benefits are provided to active workers. The organization is funded through voluntary donations and the personal resources of its members.
