Cracking NIMCET 2024: The Essential Study Materials and Strategies

Throughout my preparation journey for the NIMCET 2024 exam, I found only two books to be helpful: the Arihant MCA Complete Package and R.D. Sharma for Mathematics. For Logical Reasoning and English, I relied on mock tests and practice sheets provided by my coaching institute, ASPIRE STUDY.

R.D. Sharma contained some valuable chapters for Mathematics, specifically probability, permutation and combination, sets, and sequence and series. However, I found it to be quite daunting for a mediocre learner. Hence, I recommend sticking to 1-2 resources and revising them multiple times. I practiced probability and permutation and combination from R.D. Sharma 2-3 times each, and similarly, I covered the important topics from the Arihant MCA Complete Package.

Focusing on important topics is crucial for success in the exam. Topics like vectors, probability, permutation and combination, and trigonometry are frequently tested, with 3-4 questions appearing every year. It’s essential to practice these topics regularly. You can use R.D. Sharma for topics like sets, sequence and series, and quadratic equations, as they are easier and can help you secure some quick marks.

A key resource for the exam is Previous Year Questions (PYQs) from the past 10 years. I recommend thoroughly practicing and mugging up the PYQs from 2008 to 2022. Many questions in the exam are based on previous years' papers, so neglecting this resource is a mistake. In fact, this year, 8 to 15 questions were directly fetched from the PYQs.

In summary, to crack the NIMCET 2024, you should focus on essential resources like the Arihant MCA Complete Package and R.D. Sharma for Mathematics. Additionally, invest time in revising and practicing previous year questions. Stick to one or two core resources and revise them consistently. With the right strategies and preparation, you can maximize your chances of success in the NIMCET 2024.
