Effective Study Strategy for Class 10 Board Exams
Hi, Class XI students! I scored a commendable 95 in AISSE in 2023. I am here to share some invaluable study tips, tricks, and hacks that can enhance your performance in Class 10 board exams. Follow these strategies, and you will be on your way to achieving academic success!
Stick to the Basics
It is crucial to stick to the books and notes you have studied throughout the session. Avoid purchasing any new theory or reference books just before exams. NCERT books are a comprehensive resource for your board exams. Here is the list of books and materials I used for my preparation:
English: NCERT Textbook and Supplement Book with Together with Us Self-made Notes. Second Language: Textbook Material from Tutor. Science: NCERT Textbook only. Social Studies (SST): Textbook Material from Tutor. Maths: NCERT Textbook and Exemplar RS RD.Practice Sample Papers
Practice is key to success! Solve sample papers exactly like you would solve real board questions. Complete an entire sample paper in one sitting and eliminate all distractions such as laptops and mobile phones. Sample papers from reputable publishers like Oswaal and Arihant are highly recommended.
English Practice
For English, use the Together with Us Workbook to practice the questions. This comprehensive workbook will enhance your understanding and help you ace your exams. It is also beneficial to engage in regular practice.
PYQ Analysis
Previous Year Questions (PYQs)Analysis is one of the most effective techniques. Analyzing PYQs will help you identify the importance of topics. You can find repeated patterns and topics that are frequently asked over the years. In my case, I analyzed PYQs from 2010 to 2019, and the predictions turned out to be correct. For second language, English, SST, and Science, the weightage analysis was accurate, and questions from my prediction list actually came true!
Copy Presentation
The way you present your answers in the copy is crucial. Try not to write in long paragraphs. Underline the important parts of the answer for 5-mark questions. There are numerous YouTube videos available that showcase this technique.
Handwriting and Writing Practice
Keep your handwriting simple and clear. Avoid cursive handwriting to avoid confusion. Focus on improving your writing speed and clarity. A practical tip is to start practicing all your writing with a single pen. Use the same pen in your exams and at home. Opt for a light pen with a good grip, and when writing, remove the cap from the back to increase your writing speed.
Schedule Your Studies
Plan your study schedule to stay organized and focused. Avoid panic and stay calm. Consistency is key to your success. If you need any further advice or have any queries, feel free to shoot me a message.
Best of Luck!
