Understanding Exit Options for IPM Students at IIM Indore
Dear Students and Prospective Applicants,
When considering the Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) at IIM Indore, it is important to understand the various options available to you during your studies. This article will provide a comprehensive overview of the exit options, the flexibility of the programme, and how to navigate these choices.
Exit Option Policy at IPM IIM Indore
After 3 years of completion of course requirements, IPM students at IIM Indore do have the opportunity to exit the programme. Upon successful completion of these requirements, students can be awarded a B.A. degree in Foundations of Management by IIM Indore. This exit option is designed to provide students with the flexibility to pursue alternative paths in their academic and professional careers.
Note: As of the time of this update, no intermediate degree or diploma is awarded after 3 years for the IPM programme. Students must complete the full 5-year integrated programme to receive their formal degree.
How the Exit Option Works
For students who wish to exit after 3 years, the process is straightforward:
Complete all course requirements within the first 3 years of the programme. Meet the graduation criteria set by IIM Indore. Apply for the exit process, ensuring that all documentation and procedures are followed. Upon successful completion of the exit process, students will be awarded a B.A. degree in Foundations of Management by IIM Indore. This exit option provides students with the flexibility to explore other academic or professional paths if they have completed their studies satisfactorily within the first 3 years.
Sabbatical Option for IPM Students
For select students, IIM Indore also offers a sabbatical option. This option allows students to take a break from the programme to focus on other aspects of their lives or academic pursuits. The sabbatical can be granted for up to 2 years, providing additional flexibility for students.
Note: During the sabbatical period, students will not be required to complete coursework, but they must adhere to any specific obligations outlined by the programme.
Additional Considerations
It's crucial to note that while the IPM programme is a 5-year integrated programme, students can still use their IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) degree if they are pursuing other academic paths. However, obtaining an IGNOU degree typically takes more than 3 years, which is longer than the exit option available in the IPM programme.
