Experiences and Preparation Tips for Scoring 10 CGPA in 10th Standard C.B.S.E.
Scoring a 10 CGPA on your 10th standard C.B.S.E. board examination is achievable with the right study strategies and dedication. Here, I will share my personal experiences and the preparation methods that helped me score a great CGPA. Let's dive in!
Strategies for Success
First and foremost, choose smart work over hard work. This doesn't mean you should be lazy; it means being efficient in your studies. Pay attention in class and try to understand the concepts rather than cramming information.
Selecting Subjects Wisely in Social Science
If you have options in Social Science, choose the chapters wisely. It's important to read the textbooks thoroughly and as many times as necessary to understand the material. This repetition helps solidify the information in your mind.
Mathematics: Practice Makes Perfect
For Mathematics, practice a variety of questions. The more you practice, the better you will get. This is true for any subject, but Mathematics benefits significantly from regular practice. You can find numerous resources online or through practice books like S Chand Publications, which have been incredibly helpful for me.
Science: Textbooks Are Your Bible
Science is generally easier to handle if you read the textbooks. NCERT textbooks are excellent resources, and I highly recommend treating them as your Bible. By studying NCERT thoroughly, you can ensure you cover the entire syllabus comprehensively.
Studying Regularly
Start studying from the beginning of the year. Whatever is taught in school, study it properly on the same day. Do not wait until the end of the year to start preparing. Allocating just 2 hours of study per day is more than sufficient. Efficient use of your study time is more critical than spending long hours with minimal output.
Personal Experience and Reflection
In 2018, I took my 10th board examination, and to my surprise, the questions were quite easy and NCERT-based. My syllabus was completed by the end of November, and I started my preparation from January. This early start gave me ample time to prepare effectively.
Preparations from January
I focused on the areas where I was weak and where I made mistakes during the preboards. I completed my NCERT textbooks for all subjects and then referred to other books as well. It's crucial to treat NCERT as a primary resource, as the board examination is heavily based on these textbooks.
My preboards in January went well, but not to my satisfaction, with scores of 73/80 in Math, 78/80 in Social Studies (SST), 76/80 in Science, 72/80 in Hindi, and 69/80 in English. Despite these scores, particularly in English, I learned valuable lessons from this experience and used it to improve my performance.
Focused Preparation
In February, I stopped going to school to focus entirely on my board preparation. I concentrated on my weak areas and reviewed my mistakes. By the time the exams arrived, I was much more prepared. Here's a breakdown of my exam performance:
Hindi: I did pretty well, as expected. English: I finished before time and could check my paper, which boosted my confidence. Science: I was expecting a tough paper but it turned out to be easy. Social Studies (SST): I performed very well, as it was my strong subject. Mathematics: It went really well, with a small mistake on a one-mark question, leading to an expected score of around 78-79/80.Conclusion
In summary, being consistent, dedicated, and confident is key to achieving a high CGPA. Follow your NCERT course thoroughly and be prepared to perform well in your exams.
