Experiencing the MH-CET Law 2018 Paper: A Comprehensive Review
Introduction
The MH-CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test) law paper in 2018 left many students with mixed feelings. While some found it manageable, others struggled with certain sections. In this comprehensive review, I will share my experience and insights on how the exam unfolded.
Section-wise Analysis
The MH-CET law paper is divided into several sections, each carrying its own set of challenges and opportunities. Let's take a look at how I navigated through them.
1. English
When it came to the English section, I felt relatively comfortable, with a breeze-like feel to it. Completing the section in about 30 minutes, I found that the only challenging aspect was a set of 5 questions based on para-jumbles. These questions, while frustrating due to the lack of definitive solutions, did not significantly impact my overall performance.
2. General Knowledge (GK)
General Knowledge turned out to be a section for which I was not fully prepared. Given my past experience with this section, I knew I could pull off a relatively decent score with some luck. My aim was to secure 20 marks, and I was satisfied to have completed the section in just 15 minutes.
3. Legal Aptitude (LA)
The Legal Aptitude section was relatively straightforward, focusing on principles and facts rather than extensive legal General Knowledge (GK). This aspect made it easier to tackle and I was able to complete it in approximately 25-30 minutes.
4. Logical Reasoning (LR)
Logical Reasoning was where my confidence began to falter. This section encompassed circular arrangements, puzzles, and inequality-based problems which required significant time and careful consideration. Despite having 45 minutes left, I could only manage to solve one puzzle and made no headway in cracking the circular arrangement and the other puzzle.
Overall Analysis
Overall, the MH-CET law paper in 2018 was deemed to be of moderate difficulty. Given the nature of the exam, cut-offs tend to vary significantly each year. Based on the experience, achieving a score between 115-120 would be considered excellent. However, aspirations should always remain grounded, given the competitive nature of the exam.
Conclusion
Upon submission of my paper, I received a score of 113, which falls within the desired range. The MH-CET law paper remains an integral part of the legal preparation for students aiming to pursue law in their higher education. If you are preparing for the exam, be prepared to handle a mix of straightforward and challenging sections. Good luck!
