Introduction

Recalling the first day at BITS Pilani K.K. Birla Goa Campus brings back a myriad of vivid memories and emotions. From the overwhelming arrival at the stunning campus to the new friendships formed, the experience of joining a new and vibrant community in Goa is unforgettable.

The Arrival

After my name was included in the fourth iteration result on July 31, 2015, my family and I took a train to Goa on August 5. The journey to Goa was a day long, filled with anticipation and excitement. Upon reaching the campus on August 6, in the evening, I was standing in front of the main gate, ready to embark on a new chapter of my life.

The Initial Impression

On entering the campus, the beauty and splendor of the place amazed me. Despite having seen numerous pictures online, the real experience was far more awe-inspiring. Greenery all around the campus and the presence of hostels and food eateries added to the vibrant atmosphere. The striking B-dome served as a starting point for formalities. I was assigned hostel CH6, the farthest from the main building.

A campus faculty member kindly offered to drop us off at CH6, making the journey more comfortable. After completing the necessary formalities, I was shown to my room, where I made my first observations and preparations.

First Impressions of the Campus Life

The evening brought a warm dining experience. The mess food, while initially comforting, soon became a topic of discussion among students, who would often express their opinions on the school menu. Although the food options changed every two weeks, the variety was limited, which became a topic of conversation among students.

Adapting to New Surroundings

The first night was spent walking around the campus, observing the layout and surroundings. Thoughts about daily life, potential clubs to join, and extracurricular activities began to occupy my mind. Feeling proud yet anxious, I knew the journey ahead was filled with new challenges and opportunities.

Reflecting on that moment, I cannot help but smile when I think of how naturally I adapted to the new environment. The combination of the beautiful campus, supportive seniors, and new friendships made the transition seamless.

Conclusion

The first day at BITS Goa marked the beginning of a new phase in my life. It is one of the best memories that I hold dear, serving as a reminder of the joy and excitement of starting anew. This experience has not only shaped my academic journey but also my personal growth.
