Healing from Past Traumas: Finding Forgiveness and Moving Forward

Healing from Past Traumas: Finding Forgiveness and Moving Forward

Healing from past traumas is not a linear process. It can take just a moment to release it, or it might require a lifetime of effort. Itrsquo;s all in your head, but it can also be all in your hands if you take the necessary steps to heal and forgive.

Acceptance and Forgiveness

Are you ready to forgive those who have caused you pain? The journey toward forgiveness is deeply personal and often requires a shift in mindset. Holding onto anger and trauma is like keeping a tenant in your mind paying no rent. The hurt stays with you, occupying space that could be filled with positive thoughts and forward-thinking.

If accepting Jesus Christ into your heart is part of your belief system, it can provide a foundation for forgiveness. Only through faith and the love of Jesus can one truly forgive those who have wronged them. The healing journey begins when you decide to forgive, trusting God to heal you and the wounds within you. Forgiveness is not solely about letting go of grudges, but about releasing the burdens that hold you back.

The Power of Acceptance

Are you ready to accept your past and grow from it? Acceptance doesnrsquo;t mean forgetting or excusing the past, but understanding that it occurred and is in the past. Life doesnrsquo;t stop after trauma; it continues, and daily decisions about your future are what matter. If you canrsquo;t accept the past and move forward, you risk being held captive by it.

Consider the saying: ldquo; What doesnrsquo;t kill us makes us stronger.rdquo; Life is full of challenges, and each one can be an opportunity for growth. Focusing on personal improvement and self-worth means leaving the past behind and concentrating on what you can do to become a better version of yourself. Life is not just about surviving, but thriving and building a future where you are happy and strong.

Empowerment and Growth

Can you distance yourself from the cycle of pain? Learning to forgive is about breaking the cycle of trauma and pain. Itrsquo;s about reclaiming your life and your future. You are not defined by the past; you are capable of creating your own path. Think about how you can grow from the experiences that have hurt you. What can you do to make yourself a better, stronger, and happier person? Focusing on your growth empowers you to move forward.

Leave the past behind, but retain the lessons. Let go of the baggage that keeps you from moving forward. If you need a friend to help you through this process, reach out. Support can make all the difference. Life is about more than just surviving; itrsquo;s about thriving and finding the strength within you to overcome.

Personal Story and Reflection

Have you found strength in adversity? Allow me to share a personal story. I am 59 years old, and today I learned how to play with my new, very first friend — my birth granddaughter. She teaches me how to live in the moment and find joy. This journey of healing began much earlier, when at nine years old, my mother was killed under suspicious circumstances. This event led me to obsess over suicide and blame myself for her death, which in turn denied me the freedom of childhood. Throughout years of intellectual competitiveness, I dropped out of high school and became involved in Job Corp, excelling academically but emotionally lacking support.

Social isolation and emotional turmoil challenged me, and I let antidepressants go uncounseled. Over the years, I endured the trauma of losing my children to my motherrsquo;s niece and experienced the pain of my childrenrsquo;s anger issues, mental health struggles, and even sexual assault. Yet, from each trial, I found strength and the will to continue.

Existence on Godrsquo;s green earth is about more than mere survival. Itrsquo;s about finding the strength to heal and grow. Each challenge is an opportunity to build resilience. Today, I celebrate the journey of becoming a better person, regardless of the struggles Irsquo;ve faced. And all of this is because I let go of the past and focused on the future.

If you are struggling with past traumas and need support, please donrsquo;t hesitate to reach out. The path to healing is not always easy, but it is possible with the right guidance and support.
