ISKCON Welcome: A Path for Every Family

ISKCON Welcome: A Path for Every Family

Welcome to ISKCON! Regardless of your age or marital status, ISKCON stands open to accept every devotee irrespective of their caste, race, or religion. The fundamental essence of ISKCON is to seek a spiritual journey towards God.

Visiting a Tempe

The best way to start your spiritual journey is by visiting a temple nearest to you. For instance, my nearest temple is Watford Mandir, donated by George Harrison of The Beatles. Initially, you could visit the temple with your family to be in a spiritual environment. Observe other devotees and learn how to show respect and obeisance to Lord Krishna.

There are various courses and groups that can help you understand ISKCON better. The 'Explore' or 'Geeta Life' course can provide a comprehensive overview of the scriptures. Additionally, joining a local 'sanga' group where devotees gather to discuss scriptures and share prasad (sacred food offerings) can be a valuable way to connect with the community.

Family Involvement and Lifestyle Changes

ISKCON is not just about individual spiritual growth but also involves the entire family. Family members can be part of the spiritual journey by cooking for Lord Krishna and feeding everyone with love. Eating prasad, chanting the Hare Krishna mahamantra, and performing actions as seva (service) to Lord Krishna are some of the simple changes that can be incorporated into daily life.

Cooking for Lord Krishna and eating prasad together creates a harmonious environment at home. Chanting the Hare Krishna mantra as a family strengthens the spiritual bond and teaches the younger members the importance of devotion. Performing seva together can also be a bonding experience and serve as a positive example for your children.

No Fees and Criteria

ISKCON is not expensive and does not have any specific criteria for joining. It is simply about the sincerity of your desire to seek God through spiritual practices. Like visiting any other Indian temple, attending lectures, chanting the name of God, and partaking in the offerings can be your entry into ISKCON.

The journey of ISKCON is one of continuous learning and growth. Take your time to explore, understand, and embrace the teachings. By taking the path of ISKCON, you not only enrich your own spiritual life but also set a positive example for your family and community.

Welcome to ISKCON and good luck on your spiritual journey!
