In the tech-savvy world we live in, exams hold a significant place in our academic careers. The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2024 is one of the toughest exams in the world. This article delves into the experiences of a JEE Advanced 2024 aspirant who secured Air 1. Learn about their preparation journey, tips for cracking the exam, and their thoughts on the process.

A Journey of Preparation and Dedication

One of the JEE Advanced 2024 aspirants, who wish to remain anonymous, shared their experience of the exam.

Having given the JEE Advanced without much preparation, the aspirant stated that their main focus was on their board exams. However, they managed to secure a remarkable 99.3 on their first attempt, with excellent marks in main 1. The aspirant mentioned that they did not pursue any coaching for JEE and instead joined their state’s private college’s MnC.

After clearing the cutoff with 120 marks, the aspirant expressed their happiness and relief, sharing the sentiment that cracking one of the toughest exams in the world is undoubtedly a significant achievement.

Successfully Cracking JEE Advanced

This year, the aspirant secured the all-important Air 1 position in JEE Advanced, an accomplishment that they are extremely proud of. The aspirant started preparing for JEE from Class 11th. Before diving into intensive preparation, they took the time to learn the basic concepts of PCM in Class 10, which laid a solid foundation for their advanced studies.

Their preparation routine was simple yet effective. They set daily tasks and completed them through the day, utilizing their time effectively. The aspirant used coaching modules followed by RACE and question banks, a typical routine for students at Allen Coaching. They advised potential aspirants to not rush into doing reference books unless they had ample free time. Instead, they highlighted the importance of self-study, which they dedicated around 7 hours a day, alongside 4–5 hours of classes.

Reflections and Future Aspirations

Not everyone who takes the JEE Advanced is satisfied with their performance. A second aspirant, who also took the exam this year, expressed their mixed feelings. They mentioned that although they were happy to secure their desired college, they felt the pressure of the exam, knowing that even a small mistake could have a huge impact on their future.

This aspirant expected a rank around 1k-1.1k, based on their marks, but the results were different. They felt that the paper was scoring, much like the 2021 and 2023 papers. They expressed nervousness during the first paper, which affected their performance significantly, and despite their best efforts, they fell short of their expectations. However, they are glad to have achieved their goal and look forward to the next four years at IIT Delhi.

Deciding the Future Path

Another aspirant recounted their experience, feeling that they did not perform to their full potential. They mentioned that they had been provided with extensive resources for preparation but still fell short of their expectations. Their aim in Class 11 was to secure an Air 1, and while they did not achieve this, they are now setting their sights on joining IIT B for an EE degree. Their story is a testament to the challenges and hard work involved in preparing for such a rigorous exam.

Through these stories, it is clear that the JEE Advanced is a significant milestone in an aspiring engineer's academic journey, and the experience of this year's participants highlights the preparation strategies and emotional challenges that come with it.
