JEEM Mains Exam Experience: My Attempted Questions and Scoring Details

JEEM Mains Exam Experience: My Attempted Questions and Scoring Details

Today, I sat for the JEE Mains exam in the second shift, and much to my surprise, my experience did not meet the expected standards. To put it simply, things did not go as planned. To my dismay, I#8217;ve heard from everyone that the paper was primarily based on basics, with an emphasis on previous year's questions. Unfortunately, that was not the case for me.

Weakness in Physics and Less Attempted Questions

Physics, being a weak point, presented the greatest challenge. I attempted the minimum number of questions in this section. Among the 30 questions, I managed to tackle 6, but they were not sufficient. This weakness in physics required additional efforts and attention.

Adequate Attempts in Chemistry with Some Guesswork

In contrast, the chemistry section had a good variety of questions. I managed to attempt 22 questions, with a mix of confidence and guesswork. Some of these were wild guesses, but they still counted towards a score.

Mathematics: Hard and Challenging but Reasonably Attempted

The mathematics section was highly challenging, with questions on matrices and calculus being relatively harder. Despite the difficulty, I attempted 25 questions, including a few on matrices and a handful on calculus. The overall difficulty level was such that it required a lot of problem-solving and analytical skills.

Summary of Attempts and Final Score

Here is a summary of my answers:

Solved questions: 30 Guess work: 20 Randomly marked: 5 Total questions attempted: 55

I attempted approximately 60 questions in total, but ended up scoring only 121. This was a disappointing result, given my efforts. If I had not made the mistake of being complacent, I would have likely scored around 150. However, fate had other plans, as my score ended up at 121.

Key Takeaways

From this experience, I realized that one cannot rely on others' perceptions for the difficulty level of the JEE Mains exam paper. Each student's experience can vary widely. Therefore, it's important to focus on your own preparation and not get distracted by others' thoughts.

Lastly, I would like to warn all fellow JEE aspirants not to follow the crowd or others' advice blindly. Everyone's experience is unique, and it's crucial to prepare as per your own capabilities and strengths.
