Mastering Your Syllabus in 10 Days for Optimal Exam Preparedness

Procrastination is your worst enemy when it comes to exam preparation, especially when you have just 10 days left and 5 subjects to cover. While it may seem daunting, with the right approach and a well-planned strategy, you can effectively cover your entire syllabus and achieve respectable scores. Here are some valuable tips from a previous student who successfully scored 95.6 in their CBSE 10th-grade exams.

Mathematics

Mathematics can be overwhelming, but with the right focus, it can become manageable. Aim to work only with the NCERT textbook and the Exemplar Problems. Make sure to solve all the examples and miscellaneous exercises provided in the NCERT text. This will help you cover around 60% of the paper well. Concentrate on easier chapters such as Arithmetic Progressions, Heights and Distances (Trigonometry), Area Related to Circles, Statics, and Linear Equations.

Science

Comprehensive preparation is key in science. Thoroughly read through all the chapters, and underline all the important points. While it's not necessary to memorize complete question-answer pairs, focusing on the important points and practicing framing answers based on these points can be highly beneficial. This approach will help you recall and apply the relevant concepts effectively.

English and Hindi

The English and Hindi papers are divided into four parts: comprehension, writing, grammar, and literature.

Comprehension

Since this topic is familiar, you can easily score 8 out of 10. Comprehension texts often test reading skills, so you should be well-prepared to tackle these questions.

Writing

For writing, the format of letters and notices is crucial. Remembering only the format of letters and notices, and ensuring that you style it correctly, can earn you 2 out of 5. Always put your notice in a box and ensure the formatting is correct. This skill will help you secure a good portion of the writing section.

Grammar

Jot down the basic rules of grammar and attempt one practice sheet for each topic. By following these steps, you can achieve a score of around 50 in the grammar section. Practice makes perfect!

Literature

Read all the chapters, understand the important questions, and try forming your own answers. With this method, you can easily score 40 out of 50.

Social Science

For social science, read all the chapters thoroughly, focusing on the most important points. To aid in your preparation, visit SlideShare and watch presentations on the topics. After watching the presentations, revisit the chapters to reinforce your understanding. Try to form your own answers for the questions and pay attention to key dates and locations in geography.

It's important to prioritize your study material. Start with your books before turning to YouTube lectures, as your brain will assimilate information more effectively from the textbooks. If you encounter any difficulties, YouTube can serve as a supplementary resource.

My advice: Pace yourself and you will see good results.
