My Epic Journey to the ISC Board Exams: A Reflective Account of Success and Satisfaction
In the year 2024, I navigated through a tumultuous period that spanned both competitive examinations and board examinations. The culmination of this journey was the submission of the International School Certificate (ISC) Board Examinations, an event that marked the end of a challenging but rewarding academic year.
With a mark of 96.75, I am quite happy with my performance. This score stands as a significant milestone in my academic journey, bolstered by a resilient spirit and a steadfast commitment to success. This article reflects on the highlights and struggles during the preparation and execution of these board examinations.
Highlights During the Board Examinations
One aspect that stands out during the preparation and execution of the Board Examinations is the focus I placed on the English Language and Literature Board Exams. I felt I had neglected this subject due to the intense time spent on JEE, WBJEE, and other competitive exams. To rectify this, I resolved to study English daily for at least two hours in the month leading up to the exam. This investment of time and effort paid off, as I secured a higher score than expected.
A notable event during the preparation was the postponement of the Chemistry exam to 22nd March. On 26th February, I went to school and discovered the delay. This was a humorous situation to reflect on, but it was certainly stressful at the time. The surprise and challenge of revisiting Chemistry after a month were tests of my resilience and determination.
The Mathematics paper was a significant highlight. The preparation I undertook for this paper was rigorous and passionate, and the results reflected the effort put in. The Physics paper was also of a standard quality, and the overall experience was a relief after the unending ordeal of the extensive exam period.
During my last day as a school student, I was filled with happiness and nostalgia as I reminisced about my 14-year-long journey. The Board Examinations were a long, demanding marathon, but they were also satisfying. It became clear that maintaining a clear mind and peace of heart during such a taxing period is crucial.
Academic Performance
The scores from the ISC Board Examinations were better than expected. Here are the detailed marks:
English: 87 Hindi: 95 Mathematics: 92 Chemistry: 92 Physics: 90 Total Percentile: 91.5Although the marks were more than anticipated, there were still areas for improvement. A particular challenge was the English Language exam. Given that it was my first board exam, I was naturally anxious and ended up writing the most boring essay ever. However, my score in English Literature improved significantly due to my efforts in preparing for it. The Mathematics paper was hands down the best. I prepared for it extensively and the performance reflected this. Similarly, Physics, Chemistry, and a portion of Biology were also strong areas. However, I struggled with Biology due to inadequate preparation despite my best efforts.
Despite the mixed results, the overall performance was satisfactory, and I received an overall percentage of 89. This was less than my expected 91 percent, but still, a commendable score. The journey to achieve this score was more about personal growth and resilience rather than just academic success.
Future Plans and Reflections
These results have opened the door to many possibilities for the future. With these scores, I have been accepted into a BSc Mathematics course in a good college. Additionally, I have the option to pursue a BE in Extreme Cities (EXTC) in Mumbai colleges using my MHTCET scores. The decision on which path to take is still pending, but I am excited about the opportunities ahead.
Looking back, I am filled with a sense of satisfaction and relief that the unending ordeal of the ISC Board Examinations has finally ended. As a future board examinee, one piece of advice I would give is to study well and stay dedicated to your pursuits. Success in board exams is not just about studying; it's about maintaining mental peace and passion throughout the process.
