NEET Preparation and Test Series Scores: A Personal Journey
Reflecting on my journey as a NEET aspirant, I cannot help but be amazed at how far I've come. Five months ago, I was just like any other student preparing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for medical college admission. However, my preparation involved various test series, and the scores I received provided a significant measure of my progress and readiness for the actual exam.
The Consistency of My Test Series Scores
Throughout my school years, particularly in Class 11 and 12, my test scores were remarkably consistent. Even in the famed Aakash test series, my scores ranged consistently in the 700 mark. I recall my performance in the Ask Aakash Test b(TE) exam was consistent, with a score of 710 in both my initial and final exams. This consistency was a testament to my hard work and preparation.
NEET Scores: A Milestone Achievement
Leading up to the NEET exam, various test series were conducted. These test series were instrumental in gauging my preparation and identifying areas that needed improvement. One of my most memorable test series experiences was the Aakash Pre-NEET test, where I achieved a score of 710. Even in the actual NEET exam, my score was 716. This score was just enough for me to secure a spot at a prestigious college, AIIMS-Delhi.
The KOTA Experience: A Low Point
During my time in Kota, studying at KOTA Vidya Peeth, my experience was quite different. My scores in the Full Syllabus Test (FST) were consistently below 590. These disappointing results caused me considerable distress, as I had always aspired to study in a top medical college. It was a challenging period, and I frequently shared my struggles with my physics teacher. However, fate had something else in store for me.
A Astounding Comeback
Despite the low scores, I did manage to secure a remarkable 623 marks in the actual NEET exam. Looking back, this outcome was a beautiful illustration of how perseverance and consistent effort can eventually lead to success. The journey was indeed bumpy, but the outcome was worth every moment.
My Test Series Scores: An Insight into Preparation
For NEET aspirants, it is essential to participate in multiple test series to gauge one's preparation. I, too, engaged in several test series, including those conducted by All India Test Series (AITS) and Allen Institute. My scores in Allen test series reflected a gradual improvement, with lowest scores ranging from 609 to 702 in the Student Research Group (SRG) major. In my Common Major tests, my scores ranged from 648 to 711.
Allen Test Series Scores
During my 11th class, I rarely studied, and my average score in Allen Test Series was around 200 to 300 out of 720. In my 12th class, I started studying more seriously, and my average score in All India Test Series (AITS) and All India Test Series (AITSE) test series was around 450 to 520. This reflects the significant improvement in my preparation over the course of my academic journey.
The Value of Test Series Scores
Test series scores are valuable indicators of one's performance and readiness for the NEET exam. They provide aspirants with insights into their strengths and weaknesses, allowing them to address any gaps in their preparation. Personally, I found that the scores in Allen Test Series and AITS are likely to approximate my actual NEET score with a slight variation of 5 to 10 marks.
Conclusion
The journey from a lackluster performance in test series to securing a high NEET score is a testament to the power of hard work and perseverance. As a NEET aspirant, it is crucial to engage in consistent test series preparation to ensure the best possible outcome.
