NRTI Aptitude Test in 2019: A Personal Experience and Insights
After many twists and turns, I finally reached my destination point for the NRTI aptitude test in 2019. Much to my dismay, the exam did not go as smoothly as I had anticipated. The admit card had specified that the paper was to start at 9:00 am, but due to some technical issues, it began at 9:35 am. This slight delay added to the initial nervousness, and I found myself struggling with various sections during the test.
Technical Fiascos and Timing Hurdles
General awareness and the English proficiency sections were manageable. However, the passage part was particularly challenging as it took around 10 to 15 minutes to complete. This time was better spent on the reasoning section, which was the most time-consuming for me. Initially, I was confident in solving each and every question, but time management became a significant roadblock. I failed to allocate enough time to the numerical ability section and was unable to see any questions from that part. As a result, I managed to complete only 60 out of the 100 questions within the 90-minute time frame.
Lessons Learnt and Future Improvement
The experience was a mixed bag; although not entirely negative, it was certainly a learning curve. I realized the importance of time management and how rushed attempts can lead to errors. Understanding this, I decided to focus on improving my speed and efficiency. The result of the exam is yet to be announced, but the experience has been a valuable lesson in preparing adequately for such assessments.
Conclusion
Reaching the test center was not an easy task in itself, but once I was there, the exam level turned out to be moderate. The English proficiency and reasoning sections were relatively uncomplicated, but I faced significant challenges in quantitative and numerical ability. As I wait for the results, I remain optimistic about the outcome and keen to continue improving my test-taking skills.
Presenting this personal experience, I hope to offer insights and advice to future NRTI test-takers. Timely preparation and effective time management are crucial to achieving success in such examinations.
