Personal JEE Main 2018 Journey: From 564 to 672 Marks
Introduction
I got 564 marks and 5193 rank in the JEE Main 2018. It was a pivotal year for me as it was my second attempt, and the stakes were high. It was my last opportunity to secure a seat in the prestigious JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) after one unsuccessful attempt. Before my second drop, my relatives were skeptical, doubting if I could succeed within two years, but I was determined to prove them wrong.
With the unwavering support of my mother, who always believed in me and encouraged me to take another attempt, I embarked on a journey filled with hard work and perseverance. The most significant lesson I learned during this time is that one must believe in oneself. Starting to believe that something is achievable is the critical first step towards achieving success. This lesson resonates with all those who did not achieve their goals in 2018.
Gratitude and Reflection
The declaration of my results was one of the happiest days of my life. I scored 672 marks, a much more accurate reflection than the initially reported 681. My result comprised 170 marks in Physics, a mistake on my part, and another due to a bubbling error. While Chemistry was a weak area for me, it remained a source of interest.
The announcement of being the Odisha state topper brought immense pride and recognition. I was honored when the Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Naveen Pattnaik, invited me to meet him. I am profoundly thankful to all those who cherished and supported me throughout my journey.
Personal Reflections and Future Plans
My name is Siddharth Ravi. I got 672 marks after briefly celebrating the declaration of my result. Initially, I was disappointed to hear that my challenges were not accepted, but I was overjoyed overall.
My First Reaction: Frustration and Determination
My first reaction was understandable frustration over the scores not being adjusted due to unticketed challenges. CBSE did not offer any bonus despite charging thousands of rupees from students for their services. My final score, calculated using the official answer key, remains the same.
My score was 578, with an AIR (All India Rank) of 3330 and a General UR (Unreserved Category) rank of 2300. My answer stands out uniquely when compared to other toppers like Shweta Dube, Akshit Dua, and Antony Sandeep Babu. Despite this, I was immensely happy as I am the first doctor in my family's lineage, and that achievement brought me immense peace and joy.
I extend my gratitude to everyone for their blessings and support. This road to success has not been easy, but the collective support and encouragement have made all the difference.
Conclusion
Both my experiences reflect the importance of resilience, belief, and hard work in achieving one's dreams. The journey from 564 to 672 marks was challenging but rewarding. With the support of loved ones and a firm belief in oneself, anything is possible.
