When it comes to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Assistant Exam, the Prelims and Mains sections can be quite challenging, as demonstrated by the experiences of many aspirants. Below, I share my personal experiences and tips to help you prepare effectively for these exams.

Performance in RBI Assistant Prelims 2022

For the 2022 RBI Assistant Prelims, my overall performance was as follows:

Reasoning: This was a moderate to difficult section, but with strategic selection, one could attempt 30 questions easily. I attempted 26 questions and felt it was a good score. Aptitude (Quantitative Aptitude): Speed was the key, allowing candidates to maximize their attempts. For me, attempting 30 questions was feasible, although I reached only 30 due to time constraints. General Awareness: This was the most challenging section of the year, with only 10 out of 35 questions being doable. Many deserving candidates faced this challenge. Computer Knowledge: This section was relatively easy, allowing candidates to attempt 30 questions without much difficulty. English: Being my core subject, I attempted 25 questions easily and could have attempted 35 if I was more confident. For others, the number could have been higher depending on their skill level.

Overall, my net score for the Prelims was approximately 138.

Overall Difficulty Level of Mains Exam

The overall difficulty level of the Mains exam was moderate, with varying sections:

Reasoning: This was moderate difficulty. English Language: This section was easy. Numerical Ability: Also moderate in difficulty. General Awareness: Easy to moderate level. Computer Knowledge: The easiest section of the test.

General Tips for the RBI Assistant Exam

Here are some key tips to help you succeed in the RBI Assistant Exam:

Understand the Exam Pattern: Familiarize yourself with the structure of the exam, including the number of questions and time limits for each section. Practice Regularly: Consistent practice is crucial. Attempt mock tests and previous years' papers to get a feel for the exam and improve your speed and accuracy. Focus on Weak Areas: Identify your weak areas and work on improving them. For example, if general awareness is tough, allocate more time to this section during practice sessions. Manage Time Effectively: Learn to manage your time wisely. Spend more time on sections where you are strong and less time on sections where you are weak. Stay Updated: Keep yourself updated with current affairs, especially for the general awareness section.

It's important to keep a positive mindset and not get demotivated by the cutoff. Many aspirants prepare for exams like SBI PO and IBPS PO, which can be more competitive. Your focus should be on your own performance rather than comparing with others.
