Reflections on the SSC CHSL 2019 Exams: Personal Insights and Preparation Tips
Today, I am showing you my scores in the SSC CHSL exam from 2019. While I was preparing for the SSC CGL exam, some readers have asked me about the other exams I have cleared, so this post is for them.
This was a formality for me, to test my efficiency, and I found it quite easy and straightforward. My scorecard is now available, and I will share it with you.
It's important to always aim for bigger exams. If you aim for CGL, you will be at least able to clear CHSL, GD, or CPO exams. However, it's crucial to remember practice makes perfect. Best of luck to everyone!
CHSL Exam Analysis
Although I was heavily preparing for the CGL, my CHSL score was quite low. Let's go through my total score step-by-step:
Tier 1: I scored 177.4, and Tier 2: I scored 66. Therefore, my Total score was 243.4. Unfortunately, I missed the final cut-off by 0.03 marks in the OBC category. My score was 233.86, while the cut-off for PA was 233.89. Missing the final cut-off is discouraging, but it's part of the process.
I took the Tier 1 exam on 17 March 2020, and the normalized score was 174.23. Despite this, I prepared thoroughly for the descriptive paper and covered various topics such as social, economic, and government schemes. However, the essay on “Right to Speech and Expression” caught me off guard, as I had not prepared any content for it. Despite this, I managed to score 68 out of 100, even though I forgot to write the subject line in one of my letters.
Lessons Learned
The experience suggests that luck can play a role in the descriptive paper. However, writing relevant content can significantly boost your score. It's also crucial to take risks, as you never know what opportunities might come your way. Don't miss out on chances, as even if they don't work out, you will have a compelling story to share.
Conclusion
Through this reflection, I hope to share my insights and encourage others to always aim high and prepare diligently. Whether you are preparing for the SSC CHSL or any other exam, remember that practice is key to success. Your hard work and dedication will pay off in the long run.
