Physics, while familiar in some aspects, introduces concepts through vector calculus and modern physics, which can be both interesting and challenging.
Extracurricular activities offer a vibrant and fun break from academics. The club system is very active, and there are endless opportunities to participate in or create your own clubs. Free time is also ample at IISc, especially after the rigors of the first three semesters. However, the workload can be intense, particularly for students majoring in subjects like biology and mathematics.
The transition to the fourth semester has been positive. As a physics major, I have more personal freedom to choose my courses, which is significantly less stressful than the mandatory courses in the first three semesters. The drop in stress means that the coursework is more enjoyable and fulfilling.
