The Complexity and Simplicity of My Natal Chart
Irsquo;m going to say a few things that may dismay or delight you, but bear with me. Itrsquo;s 100% truth, regardless of whether you are looking at an Eastern or Western astrological interpretation, and no matter what country you call home or what language is your first.
Your Entire Chart, Not Just a Pisces Sun Aries Moon with Taurus Rising and Aquarius Midheaven
Your entire chart is not just based on you being a Pisces Sun Aries Moon with a Taurus rising and Aquarius Midheaven. In Vedic astrology, which is particularly intricate, yoursquo;ll see a diamond-shaped chart with your Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu (North Node of the Moon), and Ketu (South Node of the Moon).
While the difference in the calculation between Vedic and Western charts is about a 23.4°-24.5° difference, both will be 100% accurate based on the ability of the astrologer and/or software program creating that chart. The cosmos is a vast and moving entity, and it never stops, returning to the same point in time for an estimated 25,828 years.
The Unique and Multifaceted Nature of Your Chart
Every chart is multifaceted, containing layers and layers of fascinating and minute observations made through thousands of years of world history, just as it will your family roots. Despite the complexity, in the greater scheme of things, you and I and the billions of other living beings in the world are truly what Carl Sagan called ldquo;star stuffrdquo; or what Kerry Livgren described as ldquo;dust in the wind.rdquo;
In itself, this means we are as complex and complicated as we can be, while also being as simple as that. This means even if we donrsquo;t understand why we are here, we need to invest in ourselves to make the most of the time we have herehopefully, for some good to ourselves, our families, and humankind.
I know that sounds pretty philosophical for such an innocent question, but when it comes to us and our natal charts, this is where it begins.
The Intricacies of Astrological Calculations
Letrsquo;s dive into the mathematical intricacies. In a Western astrological chart wheel, there are 360 degrees, which is roughly 1,296,000 seconds. If yoursquo;re considering Vedic astrology, yoursquo;re looking at 8 points, and even with the calculation for Rahu and Ketu, yoursquo;re still considering 864,000 seconds in calculation. If yoursquo;re in Western astrology, yoursquo;re looking at a bare minimum of 12 points, totalling 1,296,000 seconds in the wheel.
Consider the infinitesimal statistical odds of having the precise chart you have. Irsquo;d say that is pretty complicated in itself.
So, does your chart make you complicated? Absolutely, but it also simplifies our understanding of the vast and interconnected universe we are a part of. It is both a reminder of our complexity and a call to invest in our own growth and betterment.
