The First Day of My AIIMS Bhopal Anatomy Class in 2022: An Exciting Adventure

Wow, what a day it was! With excitement racing through my veins, I woke up at 6:00 am, not sure how or why, but it felt like it was the perfect start to an unforgettable adventure.

Preparation and Logistics

It was a routine day, but with a twist. I brushed my teeth, took a bath, and had breakfast, just like any other morning, but today, it felt like an important milestone. I went to class feeling a mix of nervousness and anticipation. Our classes were held in LT 4, a classroom with a pleasant environment and comfortable seats. Unlike Allen, which uses metal ones, LT 4 felt like a cozy haven for learning.

Lectures and Group Activities

Our first lecture was led by Dr. Bertha Maam. She divided the class into four groups and had us play some engaging games. Dividing into groups and playing games was a refreshing change from the usual lecture format, making the class a pleasant experience.

The department of physiology then stepped in, introducing themselves and emphasizing their student-friendly approach. It was a great contrast to the strict reputation of the Anatomy department at AIIMS Bhopal. Students often seek help from the physiology and psychology departments to alleviate the pressures of the Anatomy department.

Direction and Disappointment

After the introduction, we were supposed to go to DH (Dissection Hall) but due to our inexperience, none of us knew the way. We were left standing outside, waiting for the elevator, when suddenly, a maam from the Anatomy department appeared. Instead of offering assistance, she scolded us for not waiting in the class. Despite the confusion, it felt like a minor setback that was over quickly.

Rules and Introductions

Once scolded (or scolded, as I still think about it, hehe), we were taken to the Dissection Hall. The DH was explained to us, and famously, photographs were not allowed inside according to the rules. It was a smart policy to ensure that the focus remained on the learning experience.

Lunch and Icebreaker Session

After the initial formalities, we had a lunch break from 12:30 to 1:30. Despite the missteps earlier, the day continued with a fun and engaging "icebreaker" session. Different interactive games were played, and we got the chance to interact and socialize with our peers. It was a perfect blend of excitement and community building.

An Exciting Journey Begins

The day went by in the blink of an eye, and it felt like it was just yesterday when I started. This week has been one of the best, if not the best, of my life at AIIMS Bhopal. A lot of activities and discussions are going on, and we're still getting to know each other and learning each other's names. I'm eager to see what the future holds.

Are we ready for the adventures that lie ahead? Absolutely! I look forward to experiencing many more exciting and enriching moments here at AIIMS Bhopal.
