The Plight of High IQ Individuals: Anger, Frustration, and the Quest for Enlightenment

When elected leaders of Gaza, a majority of whom have an average IQ of 87, decide to invade a democratic republic under the instruction of Hamas millionaires in Qatar, it angers us enough to cause a significant conflict. It's not just a rational response but a justifiable one. Anger, in this context, reflects the deep-seated frustration and the quest for understanding that often comes with having a high IQ.

Understanding High IQ

As someone who considers myself a high IQ individual, I often interact with people in various settings, including auto stores, hardware stores, and home improvement centers. Interestingly, I seldom encounter individuals I consider to have low intelligence. Despite the common misconception that high IQ is an overrated trait, this is far from the reality of many high IQ individuals.

Having a high IQ is not about winning contests or being superior in every aspect. It's about processing information faster and more accurately. For instance, my son and his fiancée both score over 150 on the IQ scale. They possess remarkable memories and extensive knowledge, yet they are far from being all-knowing. An IQ of 120 merely indicates a slightly better performance on standardized tests compared to someone with an IQ of 100. It also considers the time taken to process and respond to questions.

Practical Insights and Personal Experiences

My personal journey is a testament to this diversity. I used to struggle in school, often performing poorly. However, after a second college experience where I genuinely started studying, my academic performance improved significantly. I achieved straight A's in highly technical courses and received professional engineering licenses in four states, a general contractor license, and several airplane-related certifications, including an aircraft mechanics license.

Despite my academic achievements and professional credentials, I humbly acknowledge that I can still learn from plumbers, concrete workers, electricians, carpenters, and equipment operators.

The Role of Patience and Empathy

Anger, or more accurately, frustration, arises when simple concepts are difficult for others to grasp. It's not just about conveying complex ideas but simplifying them to a level that facilitates understanding. Patience and care are crucial in these interactions. Much like a wise teacher, those with high IQs have a responsibility to convey their knowledge and understanding to those who may be less gifted. Love and empathy can play a vital role in this process.

While some might see it as a contest to do things a certain way, it's more about bringing enlightenment to others. The struggle to simplify concepts for less knowledgeable individuals is a shared journey.

It's important to recognize that even if someone with a high IQ has an idea about their intelligence, they should not act superior. Instead, they should be a catalyst for growth and understanding.

As we continue our personal and professional journeys, let us strive to be conveyors of light, bridging the gaps between different levels of understanding with empathy and patience.
