Tips for NEET Success: Insights from a Topper at Aakash Institute

Greetings, everyone. My name is Vipul, and I scored 710/720 in NEET this year. I had the privilege of joining Aakash Institute in my drop year for a year but had already attended their classes and tests as a 11th grader. Today, I share with you some dos and don'ts that helped me excel in NEET, backed by my personal experience and the wisdom I gathered from Aakash Institute.

Key Tips for NEET Success

Never Miss Any Tests

Participating in tests is the most critical aspect of NEET preparation. I had to take a year off due to a lack of practice, and it taught me a profound lesson. In the last two months before my exam, I consistently completed approximately 60 full-syllabus tests and around 20-30 partial-syllabus tests. Over the course of the year, I gave almost 80 full-syllabus tests and tens more in partial ones. Regular testing helped me get accustomed to the NEET format, eventually making the exam seem less daunting.

Attend Classes Regularly

Avoid skipping classes, even if you are in an emergency. Once you skip a class, it can become a backlog, and you will eventually find yourself playing catch-up. One day of studying can cover another's two days, especially when you are starting with an extensive syllabus. Keep this in mind and be consistent in your daily studies.

Move Beyond NCERT

The NCERT content will only help you in the beginning. You will encounter additional content in the modules, tests, and notes provided by Aakash Institute. Although this additional content may not contribute directly to your marks, it is essential to cover it. I advise discussing this with your teachers and adding these marks to the overall test score. Thus, you can ensure you have covered all necessary aspects of the syllabus.

Balance Personal and Academic Life

Take time for yourself and follow your interests. It is crucial to maintain a balance between school and personal life. Regular revision, especially on Sundays, is important for reinforcing your knowledge. Additionally, social interactions are vital, especially during the starting phase. Sometimes, loneliness and anxiety can set in as the syllabus progresses. Try to spend time with friends monthly to maintain a healthy balance and reduce anxiety.

Stay Consistent

Consistency is key. Never skip classes, even if they fall on a holiday or other special events. Lagging behind in these situations can lead to significant time wasted and added stress. Take your classes seriously and be punctual.

Always take the tests, even if you have not completed the entire syllabus or feel unprepared. This will help you understand the patterns and improve your performance. Regular testing will also help you identify your strengths and weaknesses to focus on specific areas.

Reflect and Adjust

Finally, avoid wasting time in regret. Regularly reflect on your progress and make adjustments as needed. Consistent effort and a positive mindset will significantly impact your NEET success.

My best wishes to all aspiring NEET candidates. With the right approach and focused practice, you can achieve your goals and excel in NEET.
