Unexpected CBSE 12th Results: Personal Reflection and Academic Insights
Introduction to CBSE 12th Results
Every year, the results of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12th examinations are a topic of great anticipation and anxiety for students. This article delves into the experience of a student who faced unexpected results. Through a detailed account of the scores and reflections, we aim to provide insights into the factors influencing academic performance.
Unexpected Results and Excitement
Edit: The notification of the results came through UC browser, and I was rushing to check mine, unable to contain my excitement.
The moment I opened the notification, my heart raced as I entered my roll number, and the results were displayed. Here is a detailed breakdown of my performance:
Subject Breakdown
English: 88. While I hoped for 90 or above, as the poorest student in my class scored 91, I understand the unpredictability of the CBSE marking criteria. Many students who do well get 80s and those who struggle score 90s. Accountancy: 94. I was satisfied with this result and hoped for 95. The experience is attributed to both the teacher’s guidance and the thorough preparation. Business Studies: 90. Despite my expectation of 95, I am grateful for the effective guidance from teachers and a schoolteacher who helped me achieve this score. However, my over-sahness is to blame as I write every answer very long. Economics: 95. I expected 90 but am happy with the 95 I received. It brings a smile to my face. Physical Education: 88. This subject saw the least preparation from my side, and the checker's unpredictability is evident as well, much like the English paper. I expected at least 95, but the actual score was 88.Best of Four Calculation
The best of four subjects out of the total gave me a score of 91.75, which is the requirement for DU (Delhi University) admission. Given that I belong to the OBC (Other Backward Class) category, there is a possibility of me getting admitted to SBS College of Commerce in the morning shift.
Last year, the cutoff for OBC was 90. Therefore, I am optimistic about my chances.
Expected Marks Breakdown
Here are the expected marks for each subject:
English: 97-99 Bengali: 98-99 Sociology: 96-98 Political Science: 96-98 Psychology: 95-97 Home Science: 94-96I am eager to see the final scores and will keep everyone updated.
Factors Influencing Academic Performance
Academic performance can be influenced by numerous factors, including the subjective grading criteria set by the checker, the quality of teaching, the level of preparation, and the student's ability to perform under pressure.
For example, in English and Physical Education, the checker's subjective assessment can greatly impact the score. In English, even a slight over or underperformance can result in a significant drop in marks. Similarly, in Physical Education, incomplete preparation and relying on intuition can lead to unexpected results.
Conclusion and Reflection
Education and results are unpredictable, but consistent preparation and guidance from teachers can significantly contribute to academic success. It is essential to have a balanced approach to studies and not rely solely on the checking criteria. Let us hope for the best and remain positive!
Best of luck to all the students awaiting their results.
Written with optimism and gratitude for those who helped me achieve these results.
