A Ten-Star Experience

Today I left the office a little late and had to book a cab for myself. Generally, I prefer not to talk much with drivers except to share my OTP and give directions. Unfortunately, there was a heavy traffic jam due to peak hour traffic, and the driver was talking on the phone the entire time. Although I didn't mind the conversation, he started initiating unnecessary conversations that I found bothersome. As a result, I didn't engage much. The traffic was so bad that a 40-50 minute journey took 1.30 hours. I was frustrated due to the traffic and the constant talking of the driver.

Upon reaching home, I left a one-star rating. However, afterwards, a random thought came to my mind: what if my rating had a negative impact on the driver's credibility? He hadn't done anything wrong; he was simply a human being experiencing the same frustration as I was. I also realized that I had been asking for a departmental change in my workplace due to my lack of enjoyment and the repetitive nature of my work. Clearly, I had the luxury to seek a change, but not everyone is as fortunate. So, I immediately changed my rating to a ten-star rating and thanked the driver.

This experience taught me that sometimes, our negative actions can affect others unfairly. We should strive to maintain our credibility and not jeopardize someone else's without fault. Kindness and empathy are key in creating a positive and supportive environment for everyone.
