Weird Experiences in School: Tales from the Student Sellerence

High schools and universities are filled with memorable moments, not all of which are pleasant. Here, I share two bizarre experiences that I had while attending school, which might provide some insight into the less conventional aspects of student life.

Early Risings and Disturbing Demands

The first incident, while not especially weird, certainly felt that way at the time. It all began with a younger boy who requested an intimate favor from me and threatened to physically force me into it after school. I was taken aback, but decided to meet him where he had said, fully prepared to defend myself.

When we met, he grabbed me and tried to pull me away. Instead, I turned him over and began removing his clothes, eventually stripping him down to his t-shirt and socks. We exchanged terse words, and I made it clear that I would do what he wanted, seeing this as my only way out of the situation. His parents confronted the school the next day, but the teacher, hearing of the threats, ensured he faced only minor consequences. For a month after that, I followed him around, making his life virtually a living hell. Finally, in a moment of compromise, I let him go on one condition – that he comply with my request. This he refused, until, presumably, I gave him a chance to reconsider after a third attempt.

A Horrible Accident in the Gym

The second incident is much more serious and was especially troubling during my time in theatre class. I had the privilege of using the man lift to work on the stage lights, a routine process that involved transporting it to the gym where the cheerleaders were rehearsing.

On this particular day, something went wrong, and in an attempt to lift the man lift to tilt it, my finger was accidentally slammed under the handle. Initially, it didn't seem serious, so I continued on with my task, only to see blood dripping down my hand a few minutes later. Realizing the severity, I rushed to the bathroom, but my friend, whom I had anticipated to help, instead chose to prioritize his band practice over my medical emergency. The teacher eventually arrived, and I was taken to the nurse's office where I received nine stitches for my injured finger.

These experiences, although rare, remind us of the importance of support and help from peers and authority figures. Students need a supportive environment where they can turn to others in times of need.
